Amazon will buy Belgium-based Cloostermans to boost warehouse operations

Amazon is investing in its robotics arm with the planned acquisition of Cloostermans, a Belgium-based warehouse machinery company. Amazon started working with Cloostermans in 2019 and said the deal will help it “more rapidly deploy solutions in our workplace that support employees in their roles and improve safety at work, and also help reduce packaging waste.” The company has about 200 workers and they will join Amazon’s robotics team in Europe. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
